Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day 2009

Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day 2009 gathered more than 300 participants from different European countries, Asia and the USA. We are happy that it proved to be a successful event, providing an excellent meeting place and interesting contacts in Scandinavian cleantech. 25 companies made excellent presentations and received a lot of interest from the investors and participants. The company considered best by the competent jury - Watreco, from Malmö, Sweden - received a "Cleantech Company of the Year" Award. Congratulations to the CEO, Mats Eliasson!

Today the 29:th of September Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day 2009 is taking place at Kistamässan in Stockholm. Here about 50 leading cleantech investors meet 25 of the most innovative cleantech entrepreneurs from all the Nordic countries.

More than 40 investors and venture capitalists are coming to Stockholm for the Cleantech Venture Day!


The main objective of the Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day is the encounter between cleantech entrepreneurs and investors. With ten days left until the event, this objective seems already to have been met. More than 40 venture capital companies and industrial investors and have registered so far. They are coming from all over the world to meet the 25 Scandinavian cleantech companies who have been selected to present their cases.

About the event

The Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day on 29 September is Scandinavia’s largest cleantech investment day. 25 cutting edge Nordic entrepreneurial cleantech companies will present their business case, and the event has attracted leading national, Nordic and international venture capitalists. 

In the previous years this event has achieved outstanding results in making investments happen and high evaluation grades from both entrepreneurs and investors. This year the event is special because Sweden holds the EU-presidency leading up to the climate conference in Copenhagen. The theme for the chairmanship is climate and energy, and Stockholm Cleantech Venture Day has been awarded the official status of the chairmanship event.

Indeed, according to Deloitte’s Global trends in venture capital 2009 global report, investments into cleantech is expected to increase further in the future. Political stimulus of the sector is also giving innovations in this sector further impetus and helping exploit their societal potential.
